The object is now ready to be fired in the kiln for several hours at 900°c. When the decal evaporates, the ceramic toners sink into the glaze of the object. Thanks to an extra layer of flux, the finished product will look glossy, matt or both.
All the prints need to be coated and prepared for the firing process. Here's when the print turns into a decal, which will be applied manually onto the ceramic object.
First of all, we need to crop the design into the wanted size and shape. Therefore we use photoshop to adapt your design to the specific needs. When the design is finished, the file will be cut into the size of the ceramic object.
Secondly, we print all the separate images with heat resistant ceramic toners.
